Good job to all the employees of De Luxe for helping make this happen
Founded in 1948, De Luxe has been a major player and stakeholder in the area of paper product manufacturing and converting.
De Luxe is primarily involved in food packaging, waxing, foil, lamination, pinch bottom bags and industrial wrapping.
Since the beginning, we are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality, the best service, and the most flexibility they need and expect in today’s market.
Due to our experience and leading edge equipment, we are able to process and print a wide variety of large and/or small jobs.
Also, through expertise and continuous training, we have obtained the HACCP certification and are FSC certified.
The adventure began in 1948 by the founder Mr. Jean-Louis Henrichon offering waxing and sheeting services. From a garage to four old vacant army depots, the company employed 10 employees at that time. One of the depot, was, at the time, rented by a cookie manufacturer called "Au petit four".
As the company grew, the other three depots were assimilated into what is today our head office and manufacturing plant. The first depot was the wax warehouse. The second depot held a Waxer, a Sheeter and a Guillotine.
1950 marked our first plant expansion with another one in 1954-55 with the introduction of 3 new machines to manufacture table napkins.
By the end of the decade and early 60's, De Luxe had two more major building expansions in which they added 2 bag machines, a rewinding machine and a gravure style printing press.
In 1975, after a welding room caught fire and quickly spread to grow into a blaze affecting the foundation and structure of the plant, machines were damaged and walls were deteriorated. Rebuilding was done by adding a new section to the plant.
1980: The company acquired a building in which they installed a rotogravure printing machine. De Luxe then had 85 employees.
1997: De Luxe acquired a plant in Toronto where to this day printing, waxing, rewinding and sheeting is done.
2001: De Luxe added a 35,000 square feet expansion in Montreal to give a plant which is now more than 110,000 square feet of manufacturing floor.
2002: A new company was founded: De Luxe Packaging, following the acquisition of the assets of the old Saugerties Packaging. Since that day, De Luxe systems, quality and philosophy were implemented to bring De Luxe Packaging as a high quality Printer and Waxer for the US market.
Early 2005: De Luxe Group was created with under its umbrella De Luxe Paper Products Inc. with the Montreal and Toronto divisions, De Luxe Packaging Corp. and Coflex Packaging.
To this day De Luxe Group counts over 300 employees and is now a major converter of paper, foil and plastic products.
